January Misc

A few pictures to close out the month of January. Joe took the girls to the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space museum on a Sunday afternoon. Alex wanted to wear one of her costume hair things - who was dad to limit her expression of individuality?

The girls pose before we go check out some planes.

Alex getting ready for her simulator ride.

Great shot of the Enterprise in the hangar.

Can you tell that dad made Alex pose for this picture?

Alex hangs out with the SIGINT satellites.

Meal time with Lily messy-bean.

Jan 09 Pizza Night

January found us at the Hill's for Pizza Night. Keeping the event fresh, the group made their own pizza. Quite the event with 9 little ones "helping" make pizza, and the dads weren't exactly neat either. We capped the night off with a birthday celebration for Ethan.

Lily and Lisa.

I'd be frightened too Lily.

Making pizza.

Kerri entertains the little ones.

Not sure that is the proper angle of attack for a hand-tossed pizza.

Steve takes out his work frustration on the pizza dough.

Happy birthday song.

Now the real mess begins.

Choco smile.

Maggie downs her cupcake.

Even Princess Ellie gets a bit messy.

Lisa told Dave to do the dishes again.

Happy Ry-Ry (or is it just the sugar?)

Audrey digs in (note the cool Star Wars plates)

Lt Col Promo party

The DC area promo party for the Lt Col selects went down on 23 Jan at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. Jen & I decided to stay the night in Crystal City so we could hang out as long as we wanted. The party itself was huge - free food & drinks sure draws a crowd. We had a blast and then walked over to Pentagon Row to continue the festivities.

When we arrive, this was the ice sculpture on display. While a neat sculpture, it didn't really fit the event.

The cake at the party. Apparently the rank of Lt Col originated in the colonial time frame...

Happy snap at the party. The selectees got to wear the obnoxious silver oak leave - that was so everyone else knew who was buying them food & drink.

Now this ice sculpture made sense.

Leah & Chris - our table partners for the evening.

The party continued at Pentagon row - here is a group of misfits at Siné pub.

Visiting the Cousins in Connecticut

To escape the masses coming to DC for the inauguration, we headed North to spend some time with Jen's family in Connecticut. Alex loved hanging out with her older cousins, and Lily enjoyed the company of someone her age (not necessarily her size). Joe & Jen had a fabulous time with Holly, Doug, Zach, Ben, and Bobby. Can't wait to go back.

Ben & Alex stay warm on the couch.

Zach watches the show by himself.

Bobby shows Lily the ropes with his toys.

The cousins on the subway on the way to the American Museum of Natural History.

Hanging out by the lobby.

Alex checks out the bones.

The cousins by the Triceratops.

Silly cousins.

Clamming it up for the camera.

We just wear poor Lily out.

Ben explains the exhibit to Alex.

Measuring out the size of some creature.

Ben and his reflection.

Dumb dumb.

Bobby catches up on some reading on the train ride home.

Lily ready for the cold.

Alex attempting to touch the sting rays.

Ben & Alex petting the rays.

The whole group checking out a display.

Lily and dad watch the fish.

Bobby admires the turtle.

Time to play in the snow with Fuzzy.

Snow angel.

Bet Fuzzy hasn't been sledding very often.

Zach takes the hill.

Bobby eats the snow.

Dad goes sledding with his girl.

Holly and Bobby watch the insanity from the bottom of the hill.

An accident waiting to happen.
