Camping on the Ellipse

In an effort to participate in the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, a group of us camped out on the Ellipse of the White House to get the highly-coveted tickets. With our fearless leader Matt - Dave C., Dave Y., Kerri, Steve, & I gathered on the Ellipse of the White House with about 1500 equally crazed individuals on a Friday night. We set up the tent, the lawn chairs, and waited to see if we would be one of the lucky ones to get tickets.

Matt & Steve share a moment on the double chair.

Kerri is all smiles - only 9 more hours until we have tickets.

Tent city, with one heck of view.

Around 5:00 AM we got our "vouchers" - which meant we were guaranteed tickets, in about 3 1/2 hours.

Keyser Egg Hunt

Jen's college friend - Chris, that lives near us hosted an Easter Egg hunt. Chris and her neighbor put on this annual event for the kids. While this was a neighborhood event, it was better organized than most Easter Egg hunts. There were ~1300 eggs and three different divisions, quite the production.

The crowd gathers at the start line (yes, there was a start line marked with flags).

Chris provides the instructions to the masses.

Gathering of those Formerly From Onizuka

We had an impromptu Easter Egg hunt when some old friends from our days in Onizuka AFS came out to visit the Nance pad. Everyone had fun, even the adults.

On your mark, get, set...

Birthday dinner

A few friends gathered to celebrate Joe's birthday. Chas & Sara trekked in from Bowie, MD, Quoc flew in all the from LA (not really - but it sounds good), and Dave came all the way from Ashburn. It was great to see so many good friends in one place, on a school night no less. We spent the evening telling stories and reminding ourselves how small the Air Force really is.

After dinner, the Yates boys came over for some birthday cake. Here Joe ponders his birthday wish.

The Cat in the Hat

Alex made a "Cat in the Hat" hat at preschool, so we were playing around with it one night before bedtime. Cote was the lucky one to be the Cat.

Pizza Night at the Gelos

We closed February with a pizza night at the Colangelos. A week prior was the originally scheduled event, however the Hill & Nance families were down with sickness, so the replan went into effect.

That looks comfy.

Which one is sillier? (My vote goes to Kerri, in the back of the room)

Group shot, in the kitchen of course.

Hanging out.

Need I say more about who is the silliest?

Alex's Final Tot 1 Skating lesson

When Alex's final Tot 1 skating lesson came to close, you could see she had come a long way (baby!). Now on to Tot 2!

Forward movement, without falling.

Stay on target, stay on target...

All show, even when she can hardly balance.
